PS2 Games on PS3 Slim Near You Soon?

August 30th, 2010
Peter Jacobsen asked:

Sony has put backwards compatibility for PlayStation 1 (PS one) games in the new PS3 Slim. It hasn’t been since the 60GB PS3 that there was the ability to play PlayStation 2 games on a PS3. Unfortunately it is not possible to buy a 60GB version anywhere as it was discontinued several years ago. Many people want the PS3 to play PlayStation two games, and you know what, that’s possible and will probably happen in the future on the system, let me explain.

The system already has the ability to play PlayStation two games if it wanted. Sony can easily allow users to play PS2 software in a software update on the PS3 Slim. Simple isn’t it. The ability to play PS2 games on the PS3 was removed to keep the PlayStation 2 selling.

The reasons Sony took the ability to play PS2 games away in the first place was because the last generation console was still selling a little. Sony felt there would be no reason to keep a PS2 on the market with the PS3 having backwards compatibility for PlayStation 2games, therefore Sony removed the ability to emulate PS2 games from the PS3 to boost PlayStation 2 sales.

I really think that Sony will add the ability to play second generation software on the new console in the future, just once the old console stops selling, that is. I think this is something that we will be seeing in the future, once the PlayStation 2 has become defunct expect those older games to be playable on the system near you soon!

Backup PS2 Games – How to Backup Your PS2 Games Quickly

Amber T. Johnson asked:

Do you have a tendency to scratch your Playstation 2 games? Wouldn’t you love to have a spare copy? Got any idea of how to get a copy? You do know that the gaming companies put a piracy protection code on their games right?

Every game that you own has this protection on it, no matter which company made it. Now this is supposed to stop you from copying your games. But I paid for them you say? Yes you did and that’s why I’m telling you that all you need is a software program that cracks the code.

What Software Do I Need To Backup My PS2 Games?

If you went looking for software tools yourself you would be inundated with all the different types available. So I have done the work for you and my results are that the best and most efficient and easy to use software is the Game Copy Wizard.

Now that you have chosen the Game Copy Wizard, you must also remember that you need to have a burner in your computer and plenty of blank DVD discs before you can do anything else.

How Do I Use The Game Copy Wizard?

As I stated before that this program is the easiest to use and I’ll explain why.

First of all, you need to purchase a copy of the Game Copy Wizard software tool and install it onto your computer. Now pick your favourite game and place it in your CD/DVD tray. Load the program and select the drive where your game is, it will start breaking down the code and making a copy of your game.

Once that is done you need to eject your original disc and insert a blank disc into your burner. Drag your copied files that the Game Copy Wizard has just created for you into your burner program. And you can watch your new copied game be created in front of your very eyes. Its as simple as that. I told you that it was easy, Thanks to the Game Copy Wizard.

Copying PS2 Video Games

August 26th, 2010
Rose Basile asked:

How many PS2 users have had their video games damaged by wear and tear? Everyone who owns a video game console that takes CD and DVDs knows the feeling of not being able to use a game due to scratches. However, copying your PS2 video games is an excellent way to protect your collection and enjoy your games for years to come.

If you’re looking to play copied PS2 video games, there is a lot of technology that can allow your console to read a DVD or even CD copy. The key is to put in a mod chip to play these video games. This mod chip works to allow copied CDs that were not originally coded to work on a PS2 console to boot without problems. Without these mod chips, the system would automatically reject any copied CD.

Installing and using a mod chip can put a lot of pressure on your PS2 game system. Many mod chips can even eventually wear down your laser and result in the need to buy a new one. Mod chips should only be installed by trained professionals, as it is never advisable to open up your own PS2 console without special training. Make sure to use only the best technology, as a cheap mod chip can ruin your PS2 console.

Creating the right copy of your PS2 video games also requires a special program for your computer. HD Loader is one of the most popular systems for copying and storing your PS2 games on your hard drive. This allows you to create a back up disc or keep the information there for safe-keeping. HD Loader allows you to catalog boot and load your games faster, and reduce the wear and tear on your PS2’s laser. Games like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas that read from the disc most of the time during play will wear out your system, so HD Loader offers many advantages to archiving games that you legally own. With HD Loader you don’t need a mod chip or special equipment, but you’ll need the PS2 Network Adapter, a Playstation 1 game, and an IDE hard drive (Maxtor ones work the best, usually) for continued use, as well as an Action Replay Max to get the hard drive software on the memory card the first time.

Many PS2 users who want to protect their original video game use this technology to back up a disc, or use HD Loader to boot their games faster and keep their laser from being overused. However, users should be careful to not break copyright laws, since buying or downloading a pirated PS2 video game is against the law. It is also against the law in many countries to bypass any copyright technology that is installed in a PS2 video game, so make sure you check into local laws before going ahead with this kind of project.

This technology helps users restore video games that have been damaged by wear and tear and continue enjoying their PS2 experience. Protect your games and continue to enjoy the best video games in the world for years to come. Back up your collection of PS2 games today using a mod chip and special software on your PC.

Dino Crisis 3 – PS2

August 24th, 2010
David J P Smith asked:

Dino Crisis is the popular survival horror game from Capcom – who are undoubtedly the master of survival horror (they are the creators of the Resident Evil series, afterall). In Dino Crisis 3 for the PS2 you are given the role of Patrick Tyler, the leader of the elite team sent into the space station to investigate a mysterious series of events. The game is once again a survival-horror game (similar to Resident Evil), but where dinosaurs are the main enemy instead of Zombies.

The Dino Crisis 3 PS2 version of the game takes place on an abandoned space station (similar to the plot of the film ‘Alien), where you must try to survive against an oncoming horde of mutated enemies. The series owes a lot to the film Jurassic Park, as the two share the same main concept (dinosaurs beings brought back to life and then going on a rampage).

One of the main criticisms of the Dino Crisis 3 PS2 version is that game’s enemies are not real dinosaurs – they are mutated aliens/creatures. This takes away some of the appeal of the game, and can ultimately be traced-back as the reason why a fourth game was never made. In addition to this, fans of the series did not like the major changes made to the game, and these complaints were reflected in poor sales (compared to the other Dino Crisis games).

Other criticisms of the game were that there was a lack of weapons to choose from, which lead to a lack of depth in the game. Just two different guns were available for use throughout the entire game, making the game-play feel stale and unoriginal. That being said, the developers have clearly not forgotten how to create a tense, exciting and terrifying game environment, and DC3 is full of surprises that will make you jump.

Copy PS2 Games – Tips on How to Copy PS2 Games

August 20th, 2010
Lumine Bell asked:

The much talked about Sony’s PS consoles (PS2 and PS3) are by far the most well-known consoles all over the world. However, most gamers do experience one major problem and that that is the high cost of the PS2 game disks. If you happen to buy original PS2 games, you would discover that it is continuously increasing everyday especially when new set of games arrive the market.

So, are you wondering if you could make copies of your favorite original games and have them as backup? Then, reading this article will definitely solve your problem.

Why Do You Need To Copy Ps2 Games?

As a good PS2 gamer, you would notice that original game disks get damaged with ease due to the scratches they develop on them. As soon as they get damaged one has to purchase the same costly disks again. This is not an economic way of doing things.

What Is The Way Out?

The only way out is to use some ps2 game copy software that are readily available in the market nowadays. All you need to do is to purchase this software and install it on your PC. Next, the software gives you guidelines on the coping procedures. Before you know it, the software would have finished doing its job.

Once your games have been copied, you should keep aside the original game disk and start using the copied ones. This method I have just revealed is by far the best way to copy PS2 games.

Word of Advice

When you are trying to search for game copy software on the internet, you need to exercise caution when selecting one. During my research, I saw a lot of game copy software that are available and can be downloaded free of charge, I tried them and do you know that they contain some really fatal unseen Trojan viruses that nearly damaged my PC. So my advice is, go for the ones from only the trusted sites.
